Well we have arrived in Ormoc and what a place it is, we only  arrived last  night but have already seen today a school for the deaf, an orphanage and a school for special needs we also visited a purpose built village to home the needy after the flash floods in 91. A very thought provoking day and also made us realise even on a small island like Ormoc Rotary really is priceless!! Fantastic projects!!!
We are also starting to realise we are getting to the end of our time in the Philippines. We are looking forward to seeing our loved ones but very sad that we are going to have to say our goodbyes soon to our new families and friends!!!
We are all very well and looking forward to our last few days.

Mabohoy!! Greetings!!Well as you can see for our earlier post we have not stopped our Rotary mission since we arrived but we have still managed to squeeze in plenty of eating and entertainment and sightseeing along the way.  We enjoyed a hearty welcome from Team Cebu and a fantastic first night at Captain A's; delicious food, E-J was the scallop queen and check out the men and their beer tower!  We were treated to dance and singing delights (and we thought it would be impolite not to return the favour and show we Brits love a bit of Kareoke) at the Cebu welcome meal and phenomenal food 'lechon' a whole roasted pig and purple rice cakes, we might all be over the weight limit coming home and that's not meaning the luggage allowance either. Sad to say goodbye but we will be going back to Cebu later in the tour so stay tuned to find out what else we can get up to in the city.
We then caught a 2hr ferry to the beautiful island of Bohol and met our first host families and boy what a welcome it was like being film stars.  A massive banner stretched across the ferry walkway with our pictures on it.  We were presented with stunning flower garlands and Kola gifts form the team Tagilibran and whisked off by our hosts to a wonderful lunch with the most amazing looking desserts in coconut shells, must find out the name.  Dinner was hosted with German style and it was truly something else, plentiful and every mouthful delicious, thank you for welcomming us into your home.  After a hard but rewarding day visiting schools and following up on campaigns we are off on an island tour tomorrow so its an early night for a very early start 4am yikes! keep looking and we will keep posting.

Wow what a three days its been. We delivered our first presentation of the tour to the wonderful rotarians in Taglibaran, who seemed to appreciate our jokes! In just three days we have already seen what an impact rotary have made in the Philippines. We have helped to administer food in a mass feeding project in two schools, participate in the wash hands campaign, talked to ladies on the sewing project and hand out the toothbrushes and toothpaste from the melton mowbray shipment - and we've only made a brief stop in cebu and a short visit to bohol so far!! Watch this space for more updates on our rotary work am sure will fill you in on the fun stuff inbetween!!!

We met at Melton Mowbray fire station again on Sunday.
We had a really productive meeting - picked up our malaria tablets thanks to E-J doing all the research and picking them up for us!! We also ran through our presentation again. It is going really well and we think our presentation will hopefully give the audience in the Philippines a taster of what we all do!!! We will be practising the presentation on Tuesday night in Peterborough, so wish us luck!!
From the 1070 team!! x

We met on the 20th December at Bourne Police Station where Emma works. The snow did not stop us and bought a festive feel to the meeting!! We ran through our presentation for the first time, it took around 45 minutes and was fantastic - everyone has made their parts really interesting and as we come from such different areas it should be an interesting presentation!!We also discussed our visas and any other queries we had. We are meeting next at the One Stop Shop in Lutterworth where Dee works on the 9th January. Will update again soon.

Hello All.
I have been told the blog was in desperate need of updating!!! We had another meeting on the Saturday 28th November. We met at Boundary Mill stores in Grantham and we all managed to get our matching outfits!!! I know it does seem surprising getting us ull suited and booted in one day....but its true!!!! We all look very smart!!!! We have also sorted out our badges. After a few hours shopping we were in need of refuelling so we were kindly invited to Mike and Joy's house for a very yummy lunch and to finish off any of our paperwork. It was a lovely day together and we will be meeting again on the 20th December at Emma's place of work!!A very exciting police station in Bourne.
Will update again soon.

Hey there.
This is a bit scary being the first blog!! We all had a very sucessful meeting yesterday at Anthony's place of work - which happens to be a very exciting fire station!!! Much more interesting than having an ordinary meeting place! (We got to sit in a fire engine and everything!!) We discussed lots of things and thanks to John had a very interesting overview of the Philippines. It is all feeling very real now - I've had the jabs and realised that we still have a lot to do.
Will blog again soon
